The objectives

Provide opportunities for veterinary students to undertake education in important areas outside traditional veterinary training

Encourage cooperation between members, veterinary students’ associations, and international Organizations
International veterinary students’ association, IVSA, is a non profit organisation run by veterinary students. It was established in 1953, and we currently have more than 30 000 members in over 60 different countries all over the world. Association is composed of an international board, the Executive Committee (ExCo) of IVSA, and local Member Organizations (MO's) in the member faculties.

Every year IVSA has a summer congress and a winter symposium, where around 100 veterinary students from all over the world gather to gain knowledge and experience. These programmes are 10 days lasting scientific, cultural, and touristic programs build around General Assemblies of the association. Events are hosted by the Member Organizations, and they enable the participants to get more broaden view of veterinary profession on an international level, share ideas and practices, and to discuss about animal health issues all over the world.
Between those two IVSA's major global events, there are also smaller events held by different Membership Organizations. Conferences and workshops are dealing with various issues, such as Animal welfare conference, Indonesian Event week on topics of tropical diseases or European Veterinary Student Seminar.
